Schlagkartei (Field Records)

Schlagkartei (literally 'field card index') is the German system of field-level agricultural record-keeping, mandatory under the Düngeverordnung (fertilizer ordinance) and cross-compliance requirements. It records all operations per field: seeding, fertilization, crop protection, harvest, and soil work.

Digital Schlagkartei systems have replaced paper records in most operations, enabling automated compliance checks, nutrient balance calculations, and reporting to authorities. They are essential for demonstrating CAP conditionality compliance.
